We wish you a Merry Christmas

The Cave of Saint Ignatius keeps you in our thoughts 
especially this Christmas and invite you to feel the Spirit,
the presence and the action of God
in the Annunciation of the birth of Jesus.

Mary looks at the angel who points to God with one hand and with the other gives her blessing; receives the Word that comes from God with one hand and in the other she has a ball of wool that represents how she is a mother and weaves in her womb the humanity of Jesus. Mary has three points of golden light on her forehead and shoulders, symbolizing that she is full of the grace of God, Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

Meanwhile Joseph is sleeping. In his dreams an angel appears who encourages him not to be afraid because the creature that awaits Mary is of God. Joseph also embraces the Word represented on the white scroll unfolded from the Father's hand.

When Mary and Joseph say "Yes", with their hands, the white color of the Word changes to gold as will the whole history of mankind change with the birth of Jesus.
