Conference for Chaplains and Pastoral coordinators

From Tuesday January 22nd till Friday January 25th, the Saint Ignatius Cave will host the second conference for Chaplains and Pastoral Animators / Coordinators. The Conference organized by JECSE will be attended 100 participants from 15 different countries.

The main objectives of this conference are:

  • to have a spiritual experience and reflect on a shared mission
  • to question today’s challenges
  • to share experiences and best practices regarding pastoral in schools
  • to discover or re-discover - with others - the Ignatian site of Manresa

The theme will be the same as that for the Loyola Heads conference in 2018:

(How) can we speak about Jesus in a meaningful way in the multi-convictional context of today?

How can Jesus become the source and the means of an open, deep and fruitful dialogue?

Two keynote speakers will assist us in the reflection:

  • Fr. Adrian Porter sj is a Jesuit priest working in the British Province. In the past he was the headmaster of St Aloysius College, Glasgow and Wimbledon College, London. He is now the British Education Delegate and the Director of the Jesuit Institute in Oxford, writing and presenting on Jesuit education, and a regular speaker on the international circuit.
  • Fr. José María Rodríguez Olaizola sj is a Jesuit theologian and sociologist, who has written many books and articles about faith experience and pastoral work. He is well known in Spain and Latin America through his talks, writings and his blog. He is also the Secretary of Communication of the Jesuit Spanish Province and the Director of the publishing firm of the Society in Spain. He is currently leading a group of pastoral workers and theologians in the renewal of the transmission of faith.

This conference welcomes Chaplains and Pastoral Animators / Coordinators from our secondary schools. They can be Jesuit or lay people, depending on their context.
