A Path to Contemplation (weekends).

A progressive introduction to contemplative prayer is proposed, through the learning of body posture, breathing, and the repetition of a mantra invocation a patterned succession of common meditations. The diet is vegetarian.
Methodology and Process
INITIATION
The initiation course consists of three weekends to incorporate the four supports that make up this Path of Contemplation: body posture, breathing, the position of the hands and the mantra or sacred word.
The rhythm of the day is marked by alternating one-hour sessions of meditation (everybody together in the meditation room) with a half an hour of rest (three times in the morning and another three in the afternoon).
The entire day is silent to facilitate mindfulness at every moment, in the walk, in the food, etc. The three weekends along the course allow for the gradual initiation into the method, which implies the personal commitment to do, at least, half an hour of daily meditation.
The basic guidelines for this proposition come from the mastery of Franz Jalics, sj who explains them in detail on:
- Contemplative Retreat, Franz Jalics, sj, published by Xulon Press (October 16, 2003)
Advanced
To participate in the advanced programm on weekends, it is necessary to have completed the initiation weekends, or the eight days of contemplation exercises and to regularly practice the guidelines indicated by Franz Jalics, sj in the previously mentionted book:
- Contemplative Retreat, Franz Jalics sj, published by Xulon Press (October 16, 2003)
