Honouring Lluís Pagès on His Retirement

Today, Lluís Pagès, who has served as Deputy Director of La Cova de Sant Ignasi de Manresa since 2015, retired. On his final day of work, the Jesuit Community, the staff team, and the Board of Trustees of La Cova gathered to bid him a warm and heartfelt farewell.

We would like to express our sincere gratitude to Lluís for his dedication and leadership throughout these years, both in ensuring the effective management of La Cova and in accompanying the many people who have shared part of their spiritual journey here with him. Lluís leaves behind an important legacy, deeply rooted in Ignatian spirituality and in his profound knowledge of Manresa. As a token of our appreciation, we presented him with a bronze sculpture of St Ignatius as a pilgrim, created by the Manresa artist Ramon Oms, together with a selection of locally produced foods.

La Cova de Sant Ignasi de Manresa that we know today, the wide range of activities carried out here, the diversity of people from around the world who have taken part in its programmes, and the many residents of Manresa who have visited the Sanctuary have all witnessed Lluís's presence and the many transformations he has helped bring about. Thanks to his commitment, the facilities have been improved and adapted, the programme of spiritual formation has grown and evolved, and the service we offer from this place has been strengthened.

As you begin this new chapter in your life, we hope you will continue to share the very best of yourself and to contribute to building a better world.
