39th Coral Singing Festival Catalonia Center
While looking for a new grammar
It's been almost forty years the choir Burés Castellbell and Vilar, as if it were an interpreter, drives the Festival Choir Catalonia Center . Over the years, they have been more than 150 amateur choirs that have passed Castellbell and Vilar and thus also have many languages and the languages to be able to talk and listen to others through sharing important common languages: the music and amateurism. Also almost 500 years ago, on 25 March 1522, a man of thirty-one-year-old Iñigo de Loyola to Montserrat Monastery began a journey that would lead to a profound transformation of himself and thus move towards more beautiful and precious to himself. This new comprehensive understanding of things did not come out of nowhere. It took moments of uncertainty, crisis and why not say it, surrender in the form of acceptance. As we know, a few years ago, the territory of Central Catalonia has set in 2022 a really important milestone. For a festival town as is the Festival Choir Catalonia Center , which in all fairness is the oldest and historical Catalonia, this goal will not be overlooked and that is why, again, we have decided to focus the celebration festival in the second fortnight of July, on dates close to the celebration of St. Ignatius (July 31).
Perhaps without realizing it in this holy figure of Basque has been present in some form in the organization and thus this year's festival started at the Basilica of the Monastery of Montserrat, with the participation of the magnificent choir children of the Cathedral of Salzburg and ends at the church of St. Ignatius Cave of Manresa with stellar Cappella Mariana , one of the most prestigious professional vocal ensembles of the international music scene.
The Festival thus been framed by the journey that is sometimes a musical career in the field of vocal music: beginnings in a children's choir and solo professional completion. It is no coincidence, therefore, that one of the members of that Cappella Mariana (soprano Hanna Blazikova ) begin this journey as a member of the choir Radost Praha children.
The territory of Central Catalonia, as we know, is extremely rich in many areas, including its architectural heritage and landscape. Amid these first and last concert of this year, we wanted to also expand ourselves in architectural spaces of singular beauty and high heritage interest as may be Balsareny Castle, the church of Sant Esteve de Sallent or the church of San Cristobal de Castellbell and Vilar, an area that, according to tradition, Saint Ignatius spent a night before its final arrival at Manresa. One of the archetypal images with which St. Ignatius the pilgrim was also identified. And, indeed, the music of pilgrims will be able to hear the voice of San Cristobal renowned singer and philologist Tarragona Antoni Rossell.
